A mother and daughter who had not been seen for three months have been found dead in their home.
The bodies of Beryl and Joyce Sheen were discovered by police officers in a state of advanced decomposition, last Monday.
Police in Sturry, near Canterbury, Kent, were answering a call for concern over the 'reclusive' pair when they were discovered.
Officers arrived to find Beryl, 63, lying on a sofa, while Joyce, 91, was on the floor.
A pathologist was unable to determine the cause of their deaths.
The police have taped off the home where two women were found dead. Officers spotted them through the window as they lay dead on the sofa and floor
A spokeswoman for Kent Police said the deaths were being treated as 'unexplained' and 'not suspicious'.
She said: 'Kent Police officers attended an address in Staines Hill, Sturry at 11.17am on August 6 where the bodies of two women were discovered.
'Officers are currently treating the deaths as unexplained and a report is being compiled for the coroner.
'The women were aged in their 60s and 90s.'
An inquest was opened and adjourned today (Thurs) at Archbishop's Palace in Maidstone.
A full hearing will take place at a later date.
