In the past month, 15 Molotov cocktails have been thrown at the apartment building where Jewish families live in the Ma'ale Zeitim neighborhood of Jerusalem, Ynet reported.
On Sunday night, two Molotov cocktails were thrown at the Givon family's balcony. One of the Molotov cocktails landed less than a meter from the window of the house, next to which were the two small children. The Givon family, accustomed to the situation, took out the fire hose used to irrigate houseplants and extinguished the burning bottle.

This case follows two other cases of Molotov cocktails thrown at families living in Ma'ale Hazeitim during the past month. A few weeks ago, nine Molotov cocktails were thrown at the building and some of them fell on the balcony of the Givon family's home, causing damage to the plants grass and the flowers they planted. A few days earlier four Molotov cocktails were thrown.

"We woke up at around 1:00 AM, and it was right near our window, but nothing happened and we turned off the burning bottle, and the whole house smelled of fire and fuel, and it fell right next to the window. Luckily, this time the children did not wake up." Said Carmel Givon, a mother of two children who lives there."We had an amazing balcony, but after all the many Molotov cocktails that fell and the damage caused by the fires, we threw everything out."
Following the previous attacks,Givon filed complaints with the police. In one of the complaints the case was closed for lack of public interest and in another case for lack of evidence. "The police called me yesterday, they already have my number because they are used to it. They wanted to come, but I told them that I did not want the children to wake up," she said.

"Last time the 5-year-old girl woke up, she has a million questions - why do they throw [the firebombs] and what to do with them ... We answer that we hope the police will catch up with them, this morning she did not wake up and I will not tell her. There is no point in filing if you do not find the suspects.

Carmel said last February in an interview with Ynet that "it's happening here all the time. On the one hand, we are happy to live in this place, and on the other hand, I get phone calls from my friends and from the family when I leave, and we keep thinking about whether to stay here or leave."

"I have no intention of living in a dangerous place, but in the middle of the year, moving with two children is not easy, and this reality is not easy for the children, and sometimes we are living on the first floor, he said.

The Police said in response: "Immediately after receiving the report of the incident, police forces arrived in the area within a short time and began searching, and later an investigation was opened to identify the suspects. Just two weeks ago, an indictment was filed against a suspect who threw Molotov cocktails in the east of the city."

"In recent years, the police have carried out many overt and covert activities aimed at thwarting and preventing the throwing of stones and Molotov cocktails, which often leads to the arrest and prosecution of suspects, indicating a significant drop since the beginning of the year. The Israel Police will continue to act decisively to stop rioters and lawbreakers in the area, all in order to protect and protect the residents from any threat or nuisance that disrupts their daily lives."
