A Colorado Walmart has been temporarily closed after three people connected to the store died from coronavirus.

The local health department shuttered the Supercenter in Aurora, Colo., on Thursday, according to a press release.

A 72-year-old female employee, her 63-year-old husband and a third-party contractor, 69, all died from COVID-19, the release said. The husband did not work at the store.

Additionally, six employees at the store have officially tested positive for the virus and three more were anticipating positive test results Thursday, the Tri-County Health Department said.

“We are extremely saddened by this news and offer our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the three people we lost,” said Dr. John Douglas, executive director of the department, said. “These deaths underscore the severity of the highly-contagious coronavirus, and the need for diligent safety precautions to prevent any further spread.”

At least 550 people in Colorado have died from coronavirus, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins. More than 11,000 people in the state have tested positive for the disease.

Earlier this month, Walmart was sued after two employees at the same Illinois store died from COVID-19.
