Paris is instituting new restrictions for outdoor exercise during the coronavirus pandemic.

The mayor of the French city, Anne Hidalgo, said that, beginning Wednesday, people will only be permitted to work out outdoors before 10 a.m. or after 7 p.m. local time, according to the BBC.

The decision to ban outdoor exercise during prime daytime hours will now push people to work out “when the streets are generally at their quietest,” Hidalgo and Paris’ police chief said.

Meanwhile, the country’s health minister says France hasn’t yet hit its peak during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are still in a worsening phase of the epidemic,” Olivier Véran said Tuesday to news channel BFMTV.

More than 8,900 people have died of coronavirus in France. The European nation has reported nearly 100,000 confirmed cases.
