A supportive husband in Texas continues to stand by his wife as she undergoes chemotherapy — even though he can’t physically be by her side.
A heartwarming photo shared by Kelly Conner shows her husband sitting outside the MD Anderson Clinical Care Center in Sugar Land with an endearing, hand-written sign after the hospital introduced new visitor limitations due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"I can't be with you but I'm here!" Albert Conner's sign reads. "(Love) you! Thank you to all staff!"
Kelly Conner recently posted a selfie that shows her inside the hospital while her husband sits right outside the window with his poster board. She also shared a closeup picture of her husband and the sign.
“No visitors allowed for Chemo due to the virus but that didn’t stop Albert L. Conner,” she captioned the Facebook post. “Thank you for all your continued love and support.”
Kelly Conner was diagnosed with breast cancer in January, according to ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
Her husband had not missed any of her appointments before the coronavirus pandemic promoted new protocol regarding visitors at medical centers.
“I didn’t feel right not being a part of it because I had promised her that I would be there every step of the way and I felt like I would be breaking my word,” Albert Conner, a 44-year-old father of three, said to “GMA.” “I just got a poster board and our kids and I colored it.”
His supportive gesture moved his wife.
“It immediately brought tears to my eyes and I felt a love for him right then in that moment, that he would do that for me,” Kelly Conner, 40, told the ABC morning show.
