A fire ripped through a Brooklyn apartment Wednesday night, killing one person and injuring two others — including a firefighter who sliced an artery when he busted through a window, authorities said.

The smoky blaze erupted at 7:14 p.m. at 874 Jefferson Ave., on the second floor of a three-story building in Bedford-Stuyvesant, and was brought under control 22 minutes later, an FDNY spokesperson said.

The body of the victim was found in an apartment in the back of the second story after the flames were extinguished, a source said. The victim was declared dead at the scene.

Another resident in the building was brought in serious condition to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan, the FDNY said. The injured person was in stable condition.

The firefighter, who was also seriously injured, was taken to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition. The source said he had cut an artery when he broke through a window in the burning apartment, and collapsed. Fellow firefighters applied a tourniquet to staunch the bleeding until an ambulance arrived, the source said.

An investigation was underway.

No names of the dead and injured were immediately released.
