A bipartisan task force of nearly 100 U.S. lawmakers will work together in the coming weeks to try and restart the American economy amid the coronavirus pandemic, but there’s one glaring omission. Mitt Romney, the senator from Utah, is the only Republican out of 53 in the Senate who wasn’t asked to join.

According to President Trump, Romney’s not on the task force because he still holds a grudge against the senator, who was the only Republican to cast a guilty vote in Trump’s impeachment trial. Trump reviewed the list of names on the task force before it was finalized, according to CNN, and that list did not include Romney.

“I’m not a fan of Mitt Romney,” Trump said at a White House briefing Sunday. “I don’t really want his advice.”

The task force comes into being as Trump and other conservatives push to reopen parts of the country that have been shut down for several weeks in order to slow the spread of coronavirus. Though some politicians have optimistically pointed to May 1 as a target date for the relaxation of some social distancing guidelines, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has warned that the U.S. does not yet have the testing and tracing infrastructure necessary to safely roll back the shutdown.
