A 51-year-old man was fatally struck by a subway train in the Bronx, officials said Thursday.

The victim was in the tunnel about 100 feet from the 170th St. station when he was hit by a Manhattan-bound 4 train about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, officials said.

The victim died at the scene. His name was not immediately released. It was not immediately clear what he was doing in the train tunnel when he was hit.
