A Brooklyn man shot in the head in an apparent turf war between rival crews in Brooklyn NYCHA developments has died after clinging to life for a month, police said Monday.
Gunfire erupted just before 6 p.m. June 1 outside a Red Hook Houses building on Columbia St.
A round hit Elvin Fernandez, 27, a resident of the Gowanus Houses, in the head. Medics rushed him to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was in critical condition before dying Wednesday.
Cops arrested David Gorham, 29, who lives in the Red Hook Houses, on June 18, charging him with attempted murder, assault and menacing. Those charges could now be upgraded.
The two NYCHA development sits just a few blocks apart.
Gorham has previously been arrested twice for robbery.
