US President Donald Trump on Friday dismissed presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s accusation that he would try to steal the election.

“Certainly if I don’t win, I don’t win. I mean, you know, go on and do other things,” Trump told Fox News in an interview.

Biden claimed in an interview on “The Daily Show” that his main concern is that Trump will attempt to “steal” the November election.

Biden also said he has even considered the possibility that the Trump would refuse to leave the White House should he lose.

“This is a guy who said all mail-in ballots are fraudulent, voting by mail, while he sits behind the desk in the Oval Office and writes his mail-in ballot to vote in the primary,” claimed the former Vice President.

Biden was asked whether he’s considered what would happen if Trump refused to vacate the presidency in the event he wasn’t reelected. “I have,” Biden said, before suggesting that the military could step in to ensure a peaceful transition of power.

Asked about that comment in the Fox News interview, Trump mocked Biden’s mental acuity.

“Look, Joe's not all there. Everybody knows. And it's sad when you look at it and you see it, you see it for yourself. He's created his own sanctuary city in the basement or wherever he is and he doesn't come out,” the President said.

Trump also said that losing the election would be a “very sad thing for our country” because Democrats' policies entail "getting rid of police departments" or "doing nothing" to address the rioting.

He said that Americans are "getting a glimpse of liberal policies" in the wake of the protests against George Floyd’s death.

“It was all very liberal mayors, radical left mayors, all of these places,” Trump said. “It was not that they were not in Republican cities. They were all in cities that frankly, I think I have a chance to win many of those cities. But these were all cities run by radical lefts Democrats. And I think it's a very sad thing that would happen."

Biden has previously suggested that Trump’s opposition to mail-in ballots could upend the presidential election.

“This president, mark my words, I think he’s going to try to kick back the election somehow, come up with a rationale why it can’t be held,” he said during an April fundraiser.

“He’s already trying to undermine the election with false claims of voter fraud and threatening to block essential COVID assistance if any extra funds go to the U.S. Postal Service,” Biden said at the time. “What in God’s name was that about other than trying to let the word out that he’s going to do all that he can to make it very hard for people to vote.”

Biden’s comments on Thursday come days after Trump tied the former Vice President to growing calls on the far-left for the abolition of police forces in the US.

In a tweet Sunday afternoon, President Trump warned that if elected, Biden and fellow Democrats would “defund” law enforcement agencies. Trump vowed to promote “law and order” if reelected.
