The burglars stole electronics worth $8,000 and caused damage amounting to almost $10,000 after breaking into the Creston Avenue Baptist Church on East 188th Street in the Bronx.
Adding insult to injury, one thief was caught on CCTV defecating in the century-old church's foyer.

They then spent hours ransacking the building with garbage bins in hand, taking microphones, wires and amplifiers from drum kits.
Surveillance footage even shows the thieves with iMacs in hand, which were donated to the church for an after-school program.
Pastor Marcia Stanley told CBS News: 'They messed up my office, broke up the safe, break up the doors, break up the kitchen. What could possess them to do things like that?'
'Can't they see this is the house of God?'
Church treasurer Emeka Oseafiana, told NBC New York: 'It feels like they broke into my house, my spiritual home.

'You would think a church is sacred, that is not something sacred to do in a church.'
In a GoFundMe page to cover costs for the damage, Oseafiana wrote: 'Recently due to COVID, Creston has started to live stream its Sunday service via Facebook in order to stay in touch with its members and the community.
'Creston was looking forward to reopening its doors the first Sunday in August but due to this unfortunate event, this may not be possible.'
Since its set up, the page has passed its goal of raising $10,000, with donations amounting to $12,058.
Police are now searching for the thieves who vandalized and stole from the church.
