The Zhipu Middle School in Henan province came under heavy criticism after images of the puritanical posts recently emerged on Chinese social media.
‘According to scientific research, chaste women have smarter children. If a woman does not cheat (on her spouse), her children born during the marriage will usually have an IQ that is over 20 points higher than hers, while the offspring of promiscuous people will have very low IQs’, one of the signs read.
Another paragraph warned: ‘If you can’t stop masturbating completely, you will never become successful and bring honour to your ancestors.’
Many of those displayed statements claimed to have been supported ‘scientific research’ but without actually citing any sources.
The posts have sparked outrage on Chinese social media, with many netizens blasting the school ‘ignorant and backward’.

The authorities claimed that the signboard had been put up by a local resident ‘without permission’.
The notice said: ‘The school playground is accessible to the school and the public. It is usually used by the school during school hours, and the passage to the playground is closed after school and during holidays.
‘[After school], residents carry out fitness and cultural activities there. The signboard at the south-western corner of the playground was recently installed by a local villager, Xing, without permission,’ the officials said.
