A group of nine US lawmakers from the Democratic party on Tuesday issued a statement denouncing the Amnesty International report which accused Israel of apartheid against Palestinian Arabs.

The statement was signed by Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Brad Schneider, Lois Frankel, Elaine Luria, Kathy Manning, Josh Gottheimer, Dean Phillips, Brad Sherman and Jake Auchincloss.

“We wholly reject Amnesty International UK’s report which is nothing but part of ongoing efforts to delegitimize the Jewish and democratic State of Israel,” said the lawmakers.

“Amnesty International rejects even the legitimacy of Israel’s founding in 1948, and this report marks the 208th report it has issued about Israel since the 1970s. By contrast, Amnesty International has published only 40 reports on North Korea and 61 on Venezuela,” they added. READ MORE
