US officials have indicated that President Joe Biden's ongoing efforts to broker a ceasefire and hostage release agreement have taken on renewed urgency after Israeli forces discovered the bodies of six hostages, including that of Israeli American Hersh Goldberg-Polin, The Washington Post reported on Sunday.

According to a senior administration official quoted in the report, the US has been engaging with Egypt and Qatar to outline a final "take it or leave it" deal.

This process has to be called at some point,” the senior official told The Washington Post, adding that the US, Egypt, and Qatar had been working on the final proposal before the six hostages were found dead in a tunnel beneath Rafah. “Does it derail the deal?
