The South continues to surprise: A new plan approved on Monday, September 8, by the Southern District Planning and Building Committee promises to transform one of the region’s central hubs. On an area of about 1.4 hectares, hundreds of new apartments, office towers, and commercial areas will be built – as well as a new college that will attract students and give the city an academic dimension.

The plan, initiated by the Kiryat Gat Municipality, includes the construction of 250 housing units in towers reaching up to 30 stories, two employment towers of 15 stories, about 8,000 square meters for commerce, about 41,000 square meters for offices and employment, more than 3,000 square meters for public use, and open spaces totaling around 0.4 hectares.

The complex’s location, right next to the train station, is considered one of the project’s main advantages.The mayor, Kfir Suissa, emphasized the broader significance of the plan: “We are in the midst of unprecedented development momentum. This is another step in transforming the central business district into a vibrant hub of housing, commerce, employment, and study.
