There are a number of well-known prophecy teachers who strongly believe that the current Islamic regime in Iran will not be brought down by the people of Iran, Israel, or the United States.
Does the biblical text in Ezekiel 38:7–11,14 simply communicate that before the attack by the armies listed in Ezekiel 38:1–6, the people living in Israel are dwelling in peaceful conditions and are not fearing a military threat from the jihadist Islamic regime in Iran?
"Get ready; be prepared! Keep all the armies around you mobilized, and take command of them. A long time from now you will be called into action. Would you agree that it is extremely unlikely that the current Islamic regime in 2026 with its desire to launch long-range ballistic missiles at Israel would still be in power in the future at the time Israel is living in peaceful conditions, as described in Ezekiel 38?
Is it so hard to believe that a future war in Jeremiah 49:35–38 could result in the overthrow of the current Islamic government, and that the regime replacing it might for whatever reason neither express a public desire to attack Israel with long-range ballistic missiles nor pursue nuclear weapons?
Could this cause Israel to be caught by surprise when a number of jihadists from Iran jump at the chance to join the coalition in Ezekiel 38 to attack Israel?
