At the General Audience, Pope Leo XIV renews his invitation to pray the Rosary, echoing the appeal he made in Lourdes to ask Mary for peace in the world, especially during the month of October.

Traditionally invoked as a “safe refuge amid life’s difficulties,” Mary is a source of consolation for a world wounded by war, Pope Leo said on Wednesday.

Speaking at the General Audience, the Pope once again urged the faithful to turn to her with the prayer of the Rosary.

The Pope at the General Audience in Vatican City says Mary is a "safe refuge" amidst life’s difficulties.

However, the Bible says: "This I declare about the LORD: He ALONE is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust HIM" (Psalm 91:2 NLT) and "GOD IS OUR REFUGE and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble" (Psalm 46:1 NLT; emphasis added).

Pope XIV leads the Roman Catholic Church, which has over 1.4 billion baptized members. The Roman Catholic Church believes that it is the only true church for all people on Earth. Well-known Roman Catholic apologist Dr. Scott Hahn wrote in his book, Rome Sweet Home (p. 142): "The Catholic Church is not just another denomination—it is either true or diabolical."

Pope Leo XIV is known by Roman Catholics as the "Vicar of Christ". It is a bit disturbing that in his 1894 apostolic letter, Pope Leo XIII wrote, "...We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty..." especially given that this earlier pope is widely known in Church history as "the Rosary Pope."

The Pope, as the "Vicar of Christ," is telling the world from Vatican City (located entirely within Rome, which was known in the first century during the time of the Apostle John as the "city on seven hills") to "ask Mary for peace in the world" and that "Mary is a safe refuge amidst life's difficulties."

Speaking within the city of Rome, Pope Leo XIV urged the faithful to TURN TO MARY by reciting the Rosary. When praying a full Rosary, the average devout, practicing Roman Catholic recites 53 Hail Mary prayers, each containing 42 words in English.
