Mayor de Blasio’s failed presidential campaign owed firms more than $100,000 as of the end of March, according to a new federal filing.
The document showed Hizzoner’s campaign owed $70,000 to a web hosting company used by the Democratic Party called NGP VAN, Inc. and $30,350.90 to Washington, D.C.-based law firm Trister, Ross, Schadler and Gold.
The campaign had just $4,709.17 cash on hand at the end of March.
A spokesman for the campaign did not immediately answer a request for comment.
De Blasio’s presidential campaign was marked by maneuvers such as taking a $50,000 loan from a PAC the mayor created to help state, and not federal, campaigns. The campaign insisted it followed the letter of the law.
De Blasio burned through about $1.4 million on his presidential run, which ended Sept. 20 after consistently polling around zero percent among Democratic voters.
NGP VAN, Inc. and Trister, Ross, Schadler and Gold did not immediately answer requests for comment.
