A 54-year-old man who took three pals out on a fishing boat drowned when the vessel capsized in rough waters off the coast of Long Island, cops said Sunday — and one of his friends is still missing in the ocean.

Big waves overturned the 22-foot 2007 Angler boat in Jones Beach inlet near Point Lookout about 10:10 a.m. Saturday and all four men on board were thrown into the sea, officials said.

A man sailing a 68-foot boat west spotted two of the victim, ages 24 and 26, in the fast-moving currents and, with his family’s help, managed to pull them out. They then began searching for the other two men while waiting for the Coast Guard.

John Costa, who had been operating the capsized boat, was eventually found in the water by an NYPD aviation dive team. The Coast Guard rushed him to a local hospital where he was declared dead at 11:52 a.m., police said. Costa lived in Farmingdale.

The two victims rescued from the water by the passing Good Samaritan and his family were taken to local hospitals for hypothermia and minor symptoms, police said.

A search and rescue mission continued Sunday for the missing fourth victim, Joseph Sparacio, 55, of Farmingdale. Sparacio may have been wearing an orange life vest, police said.

Cops released a photo of Sparacio Sunday and asked the public for help finding out what happened to him.
